INTERNSHIP PROGRAM STRUCTURE:

Our internship program is designed to provide real-world experience that is directly related to your academic discipline and career goals and provide you a better understanding of career options for your degree.  Components of the program include:

  • Hands-on experience working as a member of a specific department and team.
  • Assigned projects to accelerate learning of key functions/process.
  • Cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office.
  • Tours and exposure to other business areas (e.g., stores, distribution center) to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.
  • End of program presentation of project findings, and recommended course of action to executives. 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

  • Hands-on experience working as a member of a specific department and team. For this position, the IT Analyst-QA Test Automation is a member of the IT Quality Assurance team.
  • Assigned projects to accelerate learning of key functions/process.
  • Cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office.
  • Tours and exposure to other business areas (e.g., stores, distribution center) to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.
  • End of program presentation of project findings, and recommended course of action to executives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)     

  • Assist with the Test Automation initiatives implemented across portfolios along with the Onsite and Offshore Test Automation Team
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Offshore Test Automation Leads / Engineers in terms of Automation Script Development, Test Automation Execution and Regression across various applications
  • Design, develop, customize, enhance and implement Test Automation Tools, Utilities, Frameworks, Scripts, Processes, etc. based on the task set by the Test Automation Lead / Team
  • Apply development methodologies and best practices into developing scripts that are used for driving Test automation across various applications
  • Monitor / Health Check Test Automation Jenkins Jobs across various applications and report issues / discrepancies to ULTA Leads / Offshore Test Automation Engineers as needed
  • Perform R&D, evaluate new technologies / tools and arrive with suggestions & proposals to improve current solutions, processes & practices as needed
  • Assist with manual testing and report bugs / issues via JIRA as needed

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and entering final year of school (major in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or similar fields). 
  • Strong academic record.
  • Previous work experience and involvement with on-campus organizations or activities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment and interact with management level personnel.
  • Ability to work in our Bolingbrook office during core business hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. 
  • Ability to commit during the months of June – August 2019.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Recent college graduate or currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and entering final year of school. 
  • Good knowledge in Programming / Application Development, Database and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
  • Good Analytical, Debugging & Interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge in Java, J2EE, Java Script, Design Patterns and any OOP based programming language
  • Basic knowledge in Mobile Operating Systems and related nuances is a plus
  • Basic knowledge in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering concepts as part of the curriculum if any is a plus
  • Basic knowledge about Web Technologies / Methodologies such as HTML, Java Script, AJAX, Angular JS, React JS, Adaptive / Responsive Web Design, Servers, Web application development & deployment is a plus
  • Basic knowledge about command line scripting like wscript, bash sh scripting, groovy, python, etc.
  • Prior internship / real time project experience, is a plus
  • Basic knowledge about version control mechanisms and tools like GIT, SVN, etc. is a plus
  • Good verbal & written communication and presentation skills
  • Should be comfortable to do hands-on Functional Testing and Test Automation Design / Coding / Debugging / Analysis
  • Should be comfortable to communicate with offshore / overseas teams
