INTERNSHIP PROGRAM STRUCTURE:

Our internship program is designed to provide real-world experience that is directly related to your academic discipline and career goals and provide you a better understanding of career options for your degree.  Components of the program include:

  • Hands-on experience working as a member of a specific department and team.
  • Assigned projects to accelerate learning of key functions/process.
  • Cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office.
  • Tours and exposure to other business areas (e.g., stores, distribution center) to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.
  • End of program presentation of project findings, and recommended course of action to executives. 

POSITION SUMMARY & SCOPE:

Enterprise Integrations Intern will have direct exposure to Enterprise Integration technologies and understand how it fits within the larger Enterprise IT Landscape. You will gain hands-on experience with leading tools and technologies such as SAP Data Services, TIBCO Business Works, Mashery API Gateway, Micro-Service Architecture, Docker Containers, Kubernetes Container Orchestration etc. It is a great opportunity to learn current and target state of Enterprise integration platforms and solutions including the evolution of Microservices and strategies to drive business agility. This offers real-world exposure to actual Production IT incidents to understand the systematic processes to troubleshoot, analyze, debug and fix issues and to understand the business impact of IT issues. This gives cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Functions)       

  • Participate in an entire lifecycle of project delivery from understanding the business requirements, design/develop technical solutions and get it ready for production deployment.
  • Hands on development of REST APIs and solutions leveraging several Enterprise Integration technologies as part of key project initiatives and shadow knowledgeable IT professionals.
  • Focus on the analytical, problem solving and communication functions within cross functional partners and IT teams.
  • Provide Engineering Support to existing DevOps teams on Level 3 issues and Hot Fixes / Break Fixes needed to maintain the current production state.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and entering final year of school (major in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or similar fields). 
  • Strong academic record.
  • Previous work experience and involvement with on-campus organizations or activities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment and interact with management level personnel.
  • Ability to work in our Bolingbrook office during core business hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. 
  • Ability to commit during the months of June – August 2019.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Recent college graduate or currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and entering final year of school. 
  • Completed projects or classes in Object Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Algorithms, XML and familiarity with Enterprise Integration Patterns and API concepts.
  • Experience with one programming language [Java, .Net, PHP] is preferred.
  • Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL Databases, Service oriented Architecture and Cloud Platforms is a Plus.
  • Good understanding of JMS, JSON, XML, REST, SOAP and other J2EE concepts/technologies.
  • Strong academic record
