INTERNSHIP PROGRAM STRUCTURE:

Our internship program is designed to provide real-world experience that is directly related to your academic discipline and career goals and provide you a better understanding of career options for your degree.  Components of the program include:

  • Hands-on experience working as a member of a specific department and team.
  • Assigned projects to accelerate learning of key functions/process.
  • Cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office.
  • Tours and exposure to other business areas (e.g., stores, distribution center) to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.
  • End of program presentation of project findings, and recommended course of action to executives. 

 

Components of the program include:

  • Hands-on experience working as a member of the Store Operations Department.
  • Assigned projects to accelerate learning of key functions/process.
  • Cross-functional departmental exposures within the corporate office.
  • Tours and exposure to other business areas (e.g., stores, distribution center) to ensure full understanding of the company structure and strategy.
  • End of program presentation of project findings, and recommended course of action to executives.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF INTERNSHIP   

  • Analyze data and identify trends to support the review, validation, and implementation of critical in-store technology strategies and initiatives.
  • Deliver actionable reporting on key retail technology metrics for leadership review and guided decision-making/actions.
  • Develop executive-level presentations to communicate in-store technology findings, recommendations, and status. 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create project plans designed to implement in-store technology initiatives and enhance end-user adoption.
  • Complete external scanning and benchmarking of retail technology trends and key metrics; leverage analytical tools to comprehend retail technology trends, insights, and business impacts.
  • Review current in-store technology inventory and identify gaps for U.S. and global operations.
  • Conduct gap analysis of current end-user training collateral and related processes.
  • Develop pertinent training content (e.g., user guides, quick reference guides, FAQs, tips and tricks, e-learning, videos).

 

Experience

  • Innovative analytical experience, coupled with demonstrated ability to scrutinize and interpret ambiguous data, identify trends, communicate findings, and propose recommended action(s) based on discoveries.
  • Project management experience leading multi-faceted projects/initiatives.
  • Familiarity with retail environment, including technology, processes, and industry insights a plus.
  • Previous work experience and involvement with on-campus organizations and/or activities.

 

Skills

  • Ability to develop creative presentation materials to communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office product suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and Word.
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, VBA, SQL, BI software, and data visualization a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with various levels of leadership.
  • Proven organizational skills with the analytical ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize effectively.
  • Aptitude to positively influence colleagues, peers, and cross-functional teams with diverse goals and responsibilities.
  • Ability to balance strategy and business objectives with challenging guest experience requirements and competing priorities.
  • Strong business acumen; retail store experience a plus.

 


Requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and entering final year of school.  Would not exclude recent graduates from 2019.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Previous work experience and involvement with on-campus organizations or activities.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment and interact with management level personnel.
  • Ability to work in our Bolingbrook office during core business hours of 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. 
  • Ability to commit during the months of June – August 2019.
